Before the sale is final
If you can, have the vehicle inspected locally before paying. Once the car is on a truck, returning it becomes far more complicated.
Coordinating with the seller
Your carrier will need a pickup address, seller contact details and a clear time window. Make sure the seller knows who will be coming and what they need to sign.
Auction purchases
Auctions may charge storage if a vehicle isn't collected quickly, so arrange transport early. You may need a gate pass or release document for pickup.
Paperwork to think about
Check how title, registration and any temporary tags will be handled. Rules vary between states, so ask your local motor vehicle agency.
