Know how your vehicle is protected
Coverage is one of the most important questions in vehicle shipping, and one of the least understood. We help you see what applies to your shipment before the vehicle is picked up.
A good fit for
- High-value vehicles
- Classic and collector cars
- Financed vehicles
- Anyone shipping for the first time
Who covers what
| Feature | Carrier cargo insurance | Your own auto policy |
|---|---|---|
| Applies to | Damage caused while in the carrier's care | Depends on your policy; ask your insurer |
| Limits | Vary by carrier and policy | Set by your policy |
| Usually excludes | Personal items; check other exclusions | Varies; ask your insurer |
| Proof to ask for | A current certificate of insurance | Your policy or your agent's confirmation |
Check before you ship
Ask for the carrier's certificate, check the limit against your vehicle's value and ask your insurer whether your own policy applies in transit.
If there's damage
Note it on the condition report before signing at delivery, take clear photos and contact us straight away. Those records are what a claim relies on.
We help you understand the coverage on your shipment. For added coverage, speak with a licensed insurance agent or your insurer.
Usually not. Remove them before pickup.
